You will evaluate the current practices and implementations in the field of sustainability within your SMTE with the help of experts in sustainability to get clarity and to find potential for improvement.

Since for bigger companies it soon will be a must due to regulatory changes "CSRD" also SMTEs within the Supply Chain will not only have competitive advantages but will soon be a must when working with companies underlying the new regulation. In addition, also the future and current customer do consider efforts in this area when making their purchase decision. Be among the best in sustainability – not only as a MUST but because companies who will survive in future need a deeper purchase to survive in the market and adapt to current trends in the consumption and purchase area.
Especially within the tourism field clients get increasingly aware of your efforts in the sustainability area - with participating in ETSM2030 you will meet this expectations and get perfectly prepared for the sustainability demand of your customers and other stakeholders.

What do other SMTEs do in the field of sustainability and what are their improvement areas? Could we work together to gain knowledge about the future of sustainable tourism?
These and other questions can be answered by networking with other SMTEs which participate in ETSM2030. You get the chance to get to know SMTEs from other countries to exchange your efforts in sustainability.
Plan & implement sustainability innovation projects.
You are encouraged to plan and implement projects in the field of sustainability with other SMTEs! This could be for example participating in tailored workshops (e. g. in social sustainability and measurements) or implementing sustainability learnings in your SMTE!
These and other questions can be answered by networking with other SMTEs which participate in ETSM2030. You get the chance to get to know SMTEs from other countries to exchange your efforts in sustainability.
Financial compensation for your efforts.
For the successful participation in ETSM2030 you get reimbursed for e. g. costs for the certification and participating in training. In total, you can get up to a maximum of 7.840 € for your participation and your efforts in your project!
The financial compensation gets paid in form of four lump sums, which means that the participating SMTEs will get a certain amount of money for the completion of a task or activity. In the following, you will find for which activity, when, and which amount will be paid. In total, the participating SMTEs can get up to 7.840,00 Euro for participation in ETSM2030.
The first lump sum amounting to 1.590,00 Euro will be paid for the assessment of the status quo of the SMTE's sustainability via a questionnaire. This eligible activity will take place from August 2023 until September 2023 and the lump sum will be paid at the end of October 2023.
The second lump sum amounting to 1.550,00 Euro will be paid for the participation in training and coaching regarding sustainability. These training and coaching will take place from January 2024 until June 2024 and the lump sum will be paid at the end of July 2024.
The third lump sum amounting to 2.100,00 Euro will be paid for the implementation of a sustainable innovation project together with at least one other beneficiary SMTE (e. g. organizing a workshop regarding a sustainability topic or implementing measures for energy saving). This eligible activity will take place from April 2024 until September 2025 and the lump sum will be paid at the end of October 2025.
The fourth and last lump sum amounting to 2.600,00 Euro will be paid for giving a final interview to monitor the SMTE's improvements as well as the preparation and application for sustainability certifications. This eligible activity will take place from July 2024 until November 2025 and the lump sum will be paid at the end of December 2025.
